  • Pyrolysis oil is a crude oil-like product obtained by chemically decomposing mixed plastic waste at high temperatures in the absence of oxygen. It contains a mix of hydrocarbons and impurities that require purification.

  • Pyrolysis oil contains impurities such as sulfur, nitrogen, chlorine, oxygenates, and halogens, which must be removed before the oil can be used as fuel or chemical feedstock in downstream processes.
