For demanding processes involving corrosive feeds or requiring the highest sanitary standards, Sulzer offers its EvapCare-W wiped film evaporator with glass-lined wetted parts as a superior solution. This design balances durability, chemical resistance, and ease of cleaning to meet the rigorous demands of pharmaceutical, fine chemical, and food industries.

Exceptional Corrosion Resistance

All product-wetted parts in glass-lined EvapCare-W units are coated with a high-quality glass lining except the rotating wiper blades—providing excellent resistance to aggressive acids, solvents, and other corrosive components. This extends equipment life and reduces the risk of contamination, making these evaporators invaluable for harsh chemical environments.

Unique Rotor Design for Glass-Lined Units

Due to the glass lining, the rotor in these evaporators is designed to be self-supporting, eliminating the need for a bottom bearing. This fundamentally different design enhances mechanical reliability and simplifies maintenance, reducing wear points and operational risks associated with bearings in conventional evaporators.

Standard Sizes and Flexible Operation

Sulzer manufactures glass-lined EvapCare-W in standard sizes from 1 to 6 m² evaporator surface area, suitable for a wide range of batch or continuous processes. These evaporators achieve high heat transfer rates, short residence times, and operate efficiently under vacuum, making them ideal for recovering volatile components, concentrating solutions, and purifying sensitive products.

Easy Cleaning and GMP Compliance

The smooth glass surface combined with the mechanical wiping action facilitates effective clean-in-place (CIP) procedures, meeting stringent hygienic and regulatory requirements. This eases validation for Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines, essential for pharmaceutical and food-grade manufacturing.

Supported by Pilot Testing and Process Validation

To guarantee your specific process requirements are met, Sulzer offers pilot plant testing at its state-of-the-art facilities or mobile test units for onsite evaluation. This ensures dependable scale-up and confident project execution.
